Default University of Northern Alabama Moving to DI (FCS)

    https://twitter.com/kendallrogersd1/...51210352332805

Kendall Rogers, one of the nation's leading college baseball writers, just posted this.

@KendallRogersPG: Am told North Alabama will transition from Division II to Division I and join the Atlantic Sun. First BSB season in 2019. @UNAAthletics
This means 2018 for football. They would play in the Big South after the announcement of the partnership between them and the Atlantic Sun earlier this year. No official announcement as of yet.

Good for them. Lots of rumors over the years of when they would move up.

They will be a nice addition to the Big South.

North Alabama is a really good DII team...maybe they can make it...as long as they don't follow the Northern Colorado game plan.

Only adds more fuel to the fire of WTF are we doing in this division. It is already not what it was when NDSU moved up. Even though they used to be good, it is still a directional small time player from Bama who most don't know exist. I am NOT saying we should move, but boy, it is a legit point.

Too bad they couldn't get in the same conference as Jacksonville State, they used to be big rivals.

Except that was our own doing. We should have jumped late 70's, early 80's. NDSU was never a typical D2 team and never belonged there.
