Yeah, I generally steer clear of the opinion articles, even though there are some writers I agree with… but TAB agrees with you now, so I’ll give you a chance to retract…

Oh, I am a lot of fun, but like some redheads, I am extremely opinionated and bossy which can be off-putting. What TAB said (agreeing with me) means I am digging my heels in even harder. No retractions are forthcoming, Heffray (wonder where that name came from - heifer?) I am waiting for the Fargo Forum to find a way for mock Burgum for his only getting to answer 4 questions last night during the debate. For what it is worth, many of the reader comments on the national news outlets reporting on Burgum's debate performance were not pleased that he was not given the opportunity to answer more questions. Some of the comments (paraphrasing) were "Burgum interests me, I wish he would have been given more of an opportunity to answer questions, he seemed to have good ideas and should have been given more opportunity". Some criticized Dana Perino for her "agenda" in calling on the more well-known and inflammatory debate participants. She has probably never been to North Dakota and could not locate it on a map. Some other readers' comments praised Burgum for his cool and collected manner when he was frustrated at not being able to speak. Another said he did not join in the shouting match between Nikki and the Vivi guy. I did not watch the debate because I get nervous at watching these things (sort of like watching a close Bison game where I have to crawl under the bed I get so anxious).

It's funny to read the Forum bashing on Bisonville for being so anti-NDSU compared to the Forum bashing on SS.com for being so pro-NDSU.

I am thoroughly in your camp. I can't even say how many years it has been since I canceled my Forum subscription. It has been long enough I cannot even come up with the examples that pushed me over the edge...but I knew them when I saw them and it was definitely pro-UND and anti-NDSU. I wasn't going to pay them to do it.

Your comments remind me of a Supreme Court justice's comments decades ago - he was asked to define "pornography." He said, (to paraphrase), I can't really define pornography but I know it when I see it." I feel the same way, I can't come up with a definition or delineate all the ways the Fargo Forum pisses me off - just that I know it when I read it.

Might as well lay my cards on the table. I have a strong maternal/protective instinct towards entities that mean a lot to me such as my home state of NoDak, a public figure such as our governor, my hometown of Fargo and, of course, my beloved alma mater, NDSU. Allowing that all of these are always subject to appropriate scrutiny, when attacks are personal, mean-spirited, jeering and taunting, my Mama Bear comes out. I will never subscribe again to the Fargo Forum though I will read it for free or look at headlines. Governor Burgum doesn't need my outrage over last night's GOP debate, he can take care of himself, but when I read headlines such as Dana Perino (a moderator) clearly did not want Burgum to speak, I am pissed. There were several topics which he would be well-qualified to speak on (technology, energy and entrepreneurship) and yet she threatened to cut off his microphone and, instead, pivoted to other candidates instead (the cool kids). Because Dana Perino is a typical FoxNews babe (bleach blonde, jewel-toned dress and fake eyelashes), the Fox News higher-ups will say nothing to her. Bitch.
