Ask Idaho how that worked to get recruits when they were in FBS and in a sucky conference. When you find a better conference for us, then let us know. I trust you'll have found the extra money we'll need too for the schollies, higher coaches salaries, bigger travel budget, and of course the size of the stadium.

When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.
It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

There are two types of NDSU fans. There is the if Boise can do it then so can we types. The other is the we can't risk turning into the next Idaho so let's just stay. There was also the same kind of people when we made the move out of DII. Their were the Mcfeely types of which I would guess includes a good percentage of those here on Bisonville. The other is the Chapman/Taylor types who believed we belonged which also includes a good percentage of those on here. The rest have jumped on the bandwagon once the move was shown to be a success.
Anyways, it's just funny that the first response dependent on ones point of view in regards to this topic is either "but Idaho!" or "but Boise!"
When we left the NCC it was because we had more resources than we were allowed to use at that level. They cut the maximum number of scholarships you could issue. We’re nowhere close to that circumstance now. There’s no conference to take us, there’s nothing to play for, the exposure isn’t better, the competition is only marginally better and that improvement comes at greatly increased cost. In terms of population Fargo is still almost 40% smaller than Boise was when they moved up, and then they grew 50% in the decade after. The situation now is not comparable to the move from D-II, and Boise is not a good comp for Fargo at this point. The juice is not yet worth the squeeze.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
So what's the solution- we start playing 10 guys rather than 11? I mean at what point is this no longer football and just a comedy show each week? if there is no doubt as to who win it isn't a game its an exhibition... Bison football is pretty comparable to globe trotters level right now. You saw it in the SDSU game with multiple half back passes just to keep things interesting and still beat them when it mattered..

they were dominant back then but not like now- there were a lot of 3-4 loss seasons mixed in that time and never even 3 peated… can you imagine? If Entz ever has a 3 loss season we would fire him immediately... in fact if Entz loses 3 games his first 4 years I would be shocked..
