MAC, same issue. So again, find a conference that works.

Name one media market in the MWC with 3 million people that are all in on the team in that market? Is the city of San Diego all in on San Diego State? Nope, not even close. Boise is probably the only market where their team commands a presence within their market, but the Boise Market isn't much bigger than what NDSU has in ND/West MN. Is Denver all in on Air Force . . . don't injure yourself laughing. Yes, WYO is all in on Wyoming, but it's market is smaller than ours.

It's not just market size that matters. Most of these teams barely register in their markets . . . that should be considered also.

agree. do you want 50% of the market actually watching like NDSU gets (on away games) or 5% of a big market watching?

lets face it, alot of you don't travel much. but outside our area, NDSU doesn't even exist. Heck sometimes in the twin cities people laugh when they see NDSU. A FBS conference gets us more national attention instead of just the dakota's.

plus once again. NOT 1 TIME has Dean or Matt picked up the phone and called and talked with MWC Commissioner Craig Thompson.
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?

It should be but it isn't. The vast majority of the people in the New York/New Jersey and Baltimore/DC markets don't care about Maryland and Rutgers but the B1G sniped them anyway purely because of the market they're in. Seems like when it comes to TV deals all that matters it the number of potential eyeballs not the number of actual eyeballs.

I travel probably a lot more than you do and a lot further than your beloved Twin Cities, and I can attest your statement is not true.

There is a good reason why NDSU was one of the schools that was featured for the ESPN+ commercial (the one with Ty Brooks running in for a TD) - the brand is strong enough to marketable nationwide.

I meant $3 million media contract, not population. My point is adding a school like NDSU will not add $3million to the conference media contract. So thus if conference pays equal shares, the payment is diluted.

FYI, the USAF is in Colorado Springs (across I-25 from the MW office) and plays second fiddle in this city to Colorado College. Denver has DU, but it is a professional sports city for the most part. CU and CSU are the two biggest schools and I don’t get a vibe they are supported well fan wise within the state unless they are doing extremely well.

I would never advocate doing the move to just get attention. That would ensure failure. The only reason should be to continue improvement, to reach further.

How do you know this? Why would there be any public knowledge of such a conversation if it ever existed? WTF, dude?

People from the twin cities who laugh at NDSU are dilusionally arrogant.
