The only quality FBS program is Notre Dame, and occasionally Army.

Army would probably play us as an Indy every year. No way in hell Notre Dame would. So what 11 other quality teams will play us?

Notre Dame won’t have their first sellout this week since the 70’s... Irish Fatigue?

Honestly we'd probably get BYU occasionally, Army occasionally, 1/3-1/2 Sunbelt, MW, and MAC teams, and an FCS or two. Oh and liberty and NM state, they're always looking for someone to play.

I dont think it would be as difficult to schedule as you'd assume, but it definitely wouldnt be easy, and probably wouldnt be cheap.
    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS

Compared to a B1G schedule? no. Compared to a MVFC schedule? lol we have fun games occasionally against SDSU and maybe UNI 5-6 years ago but lets not get carried away.

1- UND or SDSU you pick
    2- Eastern Michigan
    3- UL Monroe
    4 - BYU
    5- Air Force
    6- Georgia Southern
    7- Akron
    8- Liberty
    9- Wyoming
    10- Arkansas State
    11- Northern Illinois
    12- Texas State

No one is under the illusion that this is a ridiculously exciting schedule compared to a P5 Schedule. but you think this is LESS exciting than our current MVFC schedule?
I specifically left off the top 10ish G5 teams off the schedule lol. cincy, Boise, UCF, Memphis, USF, heck even Tulane, App State, Navy, SMU etc. No one is pretending this is EXACTLY like alabama's schedule, but to pretend that its not more exciting than our schedule this year is a little out of touch.

Again- this isnt to say that indepenent is a no brainer- it isnt- but going independent has a ton of faults. being more boring than our schedule isnt one of them

To add to this there would be P5 games early and such. I’m not saying independent would be a good idea.

Much better than playing historic rivals and playoff games.
