You know...a fan base that is in favor of the move might be important. And not the loud 10% twitter and message board warriors.

Willing conference that makes geographical sense
    The right conference "fit"
Probably a travel partner to move up with you (SDSU/UND/USD)
The bottom portion of that...100%. College sports thrive on geography. Likely would never make sense unless SDSU came along and probably MT and MTSU.

I love this school more than anything and am incredibly proud of my degree but it is a remote Ag school with a relatively small student enrollment. There is nothing wrong with that but we're never ever going to be on that list.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles"

When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.

It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

Geography is BS. everyone flies charters. NDSU in AAC or MWC would require Houston or Boise State to fly to Fargo every other year in place of flying to cincinnait or wyoming. that's not a problem.

50% of NDSU fans want to move up and the needle keeps moving with the fatigue. sorry
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?

That's funny I go to all kinds of road games and never see you. Not talking Vermillion either. You want the rest of us to have to get in planes to go to these things or pick one or two a year. I see a lot of the same people at all the road games.

NDSU could be 0-10 and have the same odds of moving up that they do now.

If football only, sure. But if you're including olympic sports then those travel costs need to be figured in as well. It completely eliminates all conference bus trips. Charter flights cost between $9000 and $18000 per hour (B737-400 vs B767) on average. I don't know if that cost is only figured when in the air or if it includes boarding and tarmac time. Either way it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out just how fast those expenses would add up.

I'm NOT anti FBS at all. I'm just pro-reality. I was very much in favor of our move to FCS. We had the facilities and were able to raise the money needed to do so successfully. It probably should have happened a decade earlier.

Show me a legitimate study documenting your 50% claim.
