I stay until the end. I’m not a beat the traffic person.
But I’ll take tired of winning anyway.
    It’s better than:
Mo State cares more about basketball and spent millions on their stadium that no one goes to
Und cares more about hockey and well, you know
SDSU spent millions on a upgrade. They can’t get people to go if they are winning and in the playoffs. They are giving students from another school free tickets. Now they can’t even sell out with ndsu

We go to all the home and away games. But, we don’t have little kids and we don’t have crops to get off. Support comes in many forms.
I like to surround myself with people who share in my inappropriate comments, sarcasm, and random shenanigans

It seems like most kids (under 10 years old) that have been near us don't really watch the game anyway. At this last game, the family behind us had two kids that were maybe 5 and 3 and for some reason the younger one decided to start yelling "Touchdown!" when we punted and then during most plays after that.

Those kids should be begging to stay and get down there to high five players.
Ok I’ll go back to grumbling about my lawn and the price of a loaf of bread now.

You sure about that? I figured by Chapo math standards there would be 10k Bison fans there...

At least we might get more than half the Bison fans there to stay for the whole game if it's close unlike in the Fargodome.

I think with the students, it may be more about "Social fulfillment" and social media. You gotta say you wen to this big event, but that is all that matters. Show up, take some selfies, glorify one's self to the world and leave.

I don't think the college kids come for the game anymore. Well some obviously do and enjoy the game, but i'm guessing there are more and more just coming to selfie, socialize, and leave.

I'd say that was still even common starting in 90s, minus the selfie and social media aspect of it. It kind of goes down the road if you're not really understanding that you're paying for it are you going to value being at the event so much? How many of the students even understand that a part of their fees is the student activity fee that gets them into the game(s)? They probably think they're getting it for "free" so they don't value it as much as say pulling % out of hat here 70% of the rest of the dome is going hey I paid $60 a seat I'm going to enjoy my game to the bitter end or in TM season ticket donation we're paying $100/seat or whatever it works out to be.

Its tricky. The world is dematerializing, culture is shifting to valuing experiences more than things. I’ve done a complete 180 on people taking pictures of their food. It’s about capturing an experience. But, on the other hand if the ONLY point is to put it on social media and advertise your presence then you aren’t actually engaging with the experience.

I think I’ve said this on here somewhere before; I wouldn’t be opposed to directly charging students a small amount for their seats. People do value what they pay for more highly, even if it’s only a token amount.

Finally, plenty of people who pay for tickets still leave early.
