Any unfilled seat in the Fargodome is a failure of policy.

This is a very valid point. Not sure it explains all the decline in student attendance, but I won't deny it's likely a factor.

...anybody notice the big amount of empty seats at Alabama? It's all over college and pro football. There's been a fundamental change in the attitude of some fans of this sport.

NDSU still has it pretty good.

If you're 18, 19, or 20 and you can patty with your friends, probably alcohol included or go to the game partying maybe the choice. Students are probably enjoying the game, just a modified venue. Bison students still appear to have greater numbers in the stands than many total crowds shown on many TV games.

I think understanding why the students aren't going and letting people who want to go to the game buy tickets are mutually exclusive.
