    Default 2016.11 USD Preview

Last week USD kept it close against SDSU but lost 21-28. They had a chance to tie or go for the win when they got the ball with 56 seconds left on their own 24 - they drove it the SDSU 48 and then threw an interception. So they've got that going for them.

+SDSU rushed for over 400 yards at 8ypc. USD's D gave up 630 total yards.
    - USD was probably very worried about SDSU's pass game and so probably didn't have 8-10 men in the box like they will against NDSU.
+ USD is last in the conference in scoring, rushing, and total defense
    - USD is 2nd in the conference in scoring offense
+ USD is the most-penalized team in the league
    - USD has the best punter in the league
+ USD is last in the league in time of possession

I expect USD will put everybody they can in the box, hope to stop the run, and win the field position battle with their punter.

Bison D can stop USD offense, and Bison rushing game will run over USD defense. I don't want to be overconfident, but I am confident at this point.

Last in the conference in total defense does not bode well for the Coyotes.

    Their defense is bad.

Bison = Run the ball and play action. Rinse and repeat

Yotes are 3-1 at home this year beating UNI and ISUr. The loss was by one point to WIU. I expect a tough game, they are going to stack the box so play action should loosen things up. Best case scenario, they stack the box and still can't stop our run game. We haven't been winning TOP. This would be a nice game to get back to that.

They are not going to lack confidence after last year and will give us their best shot. I don't expect this to be an easy game.
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

The qb, Streveler leads the team in rushing. Defense need to contain him, hit him hard, early and often.

stevelr is a running qb that struggles throwing the ball...he also usually not shy about contact...however in the game against state he was sliding a lot more. need to get multiples hats on him early and often.

their receiving core is mediocre, even tho they seemed to expose to the bunnies last week.

they utilize a lot of play action, especially on qb run looks.

up tempo style offense, so that'll be a new wrinkle to prep for.

last year the unanimous comment amongst the players and coaches was the lack of prep work leading up to the game. i don't think that'll be an issue...with all that's at stake the guys are going to do what they have to do to get ready.

    their defense is ghastly.

i coached a couple kids on the roster that were some cocky m'fers after last year...so i'm thoroughly looking forward to a total curb stomping.
This is not 'Nam. This is Bisonville. There are rules here.

This Coyote team is better than last years' but this year everything's on the line. Conference championship, playoff seed, and revenge for last year. This team has come out and jumped on everyone since Coach K came out and said he wants the team to have more fun. I think the train keeps rolling. Bison win big.
    Don't matter. FIVE-PEAT!
