Well how should they have spanned that space between the new and the old then? Far as I know there are no risers or anything there? Seats can't support themselves. (seriously I am curious what your thoughts are for this plan).

I am under 6 ft and I am not ok. But I am happy they are trying to correct the problem.
And hope it helps those taller than me

Well it's good they have options.

Larsen is being diplomatic but it looks to me he's saying somebody didn't know what they were doing.

Generally, Larsen said, decking dimensions range from a minimum 33 inches to a max of 36. The decision to go with a 33-inch deck was made before he became the NDSU athletic director and he's not sure what questions were asked when a decision was made to upgrade the seats from plastic molded to cushioned in the lower bowl.

    ......

"So I don't know if that was an architectural decision," he said. "Again, without trying to point fingers at anybody, ultimately we have an issue that we have to try and fix now. The seating company will say you have the minimum required decking, but is that recommended? Is that the most comfortable?"

If you had to evacuate, couldn't or wouldn't you walk across the court to get out? As such the seating could be closer to the court.

So how does leaning back alleviate the issue? isn't it like a seat on an airline when the person reclines in from of you?

They would lean the seats forward to create more leg room for the person behind you.

The problem is that the seats already lean back too far. They are going to change them to be more upright backs.

Tilting the seats up is going to make it harder for me to nap during the women's games...
