    Default FCS Week 9

    Three Games to Watch:
NDSU at UNI 6 p.m. ESPN3/ESPN Extra/NBC ND- Big game in the MVFC, the Bison are looking to build on a hard fought win at WIU while UNI is looking to just keep its season alive. QB Eli Dunne provided a huge spark toward that cause last week, torching MSU's defense for over 400 yards through the air. Should be interesting to see how the new QB reacts in a big rivalry game this week, meanwhile for NDSU the key will be finding some offensive consistency. UNI's defense is always very tough at home.

Weber State at UND 1 p.m. MidcoSN2- This is UND's toughest game left on their schedule, the Fighting Hawks avoid both Montana and EWU so they have a very favorable path to at least a share of the Big Sky title if they can win out. Weber State is no slouch though. The Wildcats have won four straight games and are fresh off a huge come from behind 37-36 win at SUU. Weber is also undefeated in Big Sky play and avoids EWU and Montana, so just like with the Fighting Hawks a W puts them firmly in title contention.

Montana at Eastern Washington 2:30 p.m. RSRM: 683 / RSNW: 687 / AUD: 601 / RSSW: 674- In this week's FCS game of the week the Montana Grizzlies invade the vaunted red turf. EWU has rolled through every Big Sky team in its path and has yet to score under 40 points in a conference game. Montana meanwhile has been a bit jekyll and hyde defenisvely but they are capable of lighting up the scoreboard with QB Brady Gustafson. Nobody seems capable of stopping EWU, you can only hope to outscore them so I expect another classic Big Sky shoot out in Cheney.

Good luck to the Griz! Hope they have some ideas on how to defend
Eastern Washington's offense, plus that would put it on film for everyone
else. Montana is trying to rebound after a loss to Northern Arizona
    last weekend.
Here are a couple articles on the game, including QB Gubrud beating out last seasons' starter.

Gubrud, the main cog in Eastern's nationally top-ranked passing offense that Montana will be tasked with stopping Saturday, has already thrown for 2,886 yards and 27 touchdowns in his debut starting season. He has a completion percentage just shy of 71 and just six interceptions in 299 pass attempts.

There was a time when I thought our offense would be unstoppable this year. Far from
Stand your ground, have a tough hide, roam wild and free, have a strong spirit, let the chips fall where they may.

Here's my seed predictions assuming favored team wins future games. Standard disclaimer that big losses can open the door for other teams.
    1-4 not in order
NDSU 10-1, loss to rival and playoff selected SDSU
EWU 10-1, loss to seeded NDSU
    SHSU 11-0
JSU 10-1, loss to FBS #21 LSU
    5-8 not in order
The Citadel 10-1, loss to FBS ranked North Carolina
Richmond 10-1, bad loss to Stony Brook
James Madison 9-2, loss to seeded Richmond and FBS ranked North Carolina
Chattanooga 9-2, loss to seeded The Citadel and FBS ranked Alabama

Those who would seed 9-2 UND with losses to Stony Brook(I predict 6-5) and Bowling Green(I predict 1-10) who gets pushed out and why? If the Big Sky gets another seed would you take 9-2 UND or 8-3 Cal Poly or 8-3 Montana? UND has the head to head over Poly but Poly and Montana have better overall resumes IMHO. UND is definitely in with 2 more wins but they are *not* getting a seed without help.
