You actually missed a game. Sam Houston actually played Incarnate WOrd on October 8th....and won. IN winning, they gave up 48 points....TO INCARNATE WORD! So less than 10 days ago, they gave up 48 points...to Incarnate Word. I think we all understand how bad Incarnate Word is.

I was thinking maybe fall to second, remotely 3rd, due to SDSU being ranked #11.

If go by pure records and NOT anything else including head to head matchups, then 4th would seem appropriate.

HOWEVER, it is not that way. Intelligent people consider all aspects when ranking teams, this includes, head-to-head matchups, STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE, common opponents, points scored and points allowed, and look into the game stats some.

SHSU should NOT be ranked #1, if anyone should, it should be EWU, JSU, or maybe even The Citadel.

But objectively.....IMO.........NDSU is still the best because we beat a RANKED FBS IOWA team! Who else can measure up to that in the FCS? WHO?




My guess on this mess up is that voters saw that SHSU was undefeated and that they knew the name and voted based on name familiarity.
