This is a huge, huge, opportunity and I hope it is explored.
They also have 2 of the best drawing D3 fan bases in the nation to draw from and it's a ridiculouly huge rivalry. Saint Thomas and Saint Johns are located in Saint Paul and just west of Saint Cloud. It's local for them. For our base fan base, we are not local. Do we have tons of Twin Cities alumni? Heck yeah. But this better not be a cup cake game or Bison Nation may be luke warm to driving

You and the HOOPLE ND crowd are SOOO far out of the loop on this stuff its not even funny.

NDSU would fill 45,000 into Target Field, St Thomas Field, Eden Prairie HS with ANY GAME IN THE TWIN CITIES!!

are you really that backwoods?? NDSU is over 50% Minnesota kids.

BisoNation on a weekend in Minneapolis would be AMAZING!!

Lehigh played Lafayette at Yankee Stadium... didn't hear about any problems with that. They had 48,000 show up for that.

Looks like they laid down turf for that:

We wouldn't bring 45k fans for the Gophers if it was a home game at and they couldn't get any tickets. Maybe 30-35k with an awesome opponent. Your level of exaggeration borders on legally retarded

Wouldn't they do something similar to what was done at the Rose Bowl in 2014 where the Rose Bowl was played, then five days later they played the BCS Championship Game? In that scenario, the laid a whole new level of sod on top of the old sod right after the Rose Bowl and repainted the field.
    Hail the BISON!!!

Lehigh and Lafayette is one of the biggest rivalries in football and it's like an hour drive for both schools. Their game sells out every year. It would be like putting ndsu/sdsu/und in a game.

People here think we'll draw 45k fans for Central Connecticut State, Wagner, or Austin Pray. To sell this out we need either a good opponent or one who will travel

I don't think he is that retarded at all. You mention that St. Johns and Thomas have great Minneapolis Fan Bases. I would argue NDSU might be the second fan base in the cities for college football.

You have a lot of people that want to go to NDSU football in MSP, but they can't do to lack of tickets at the fargodome. On the Fargo side, we always hear how great the west lot Travels. So we get 10k. Do it Teachers convention weekend, half of ND is in the cities anyways for 3 days. Throw a football game on top of it.

Lots of interesting stories out there way the Alabama's, Michigan's are giving up games to do the neutral site games. Explains giving up home games in some cases, again not a novel ideal.

Just saw DSP on the news talking about this game, said the earliest the 2nd game could be is 2019.
Some say it's a backward place. Narrow minds on a narrow way, but I make it a point to say. That that's where I come from.
