FCS Week 4
Top 5 Games To Watch:
Samford at Chattanooga 1 p.m.- This SoCon tilt feature a pair of ranked teams, Chattanooga is undefeated on their season thus far but last week a scrappy Furman team did make them sweat. Samford is coming off of a nice win at Central Arkansas and has had a bye week to prepare, I expect the Bulldogs to throw everything at the SoCon favorite Chatty and try to open their conference season with a big upset.
Eastern Washington at NAU 6 p.m. FSPT: 693 / FSAZ: 686- The first of two large Big Sky conference games, EWU needed a fake field goal to take down UNI at home meanwhile NAU is looking for their first win against a DI opponent. There should be no shortage of points scored in this one, for NAU this is almost a must win game since a 1-3 hole is a very deep hole to dig out from.
Charleston Southern at Monmouth noon ESPN3- With CCU bolting to the FBS this game has a lot of meaning in the Big South autobid race. CSU has faced a lot of adversity so far this season and this game will be a huge test to see if they can handle it.
Colgate at Richmond 2:30 p.m. CSN+- Richmond had the shock of the week in the FCS falling big last Saturday to Stony Brook. The Spiders are down starting running back Gordon Collins the UR offense didn't much of anything against a stout Stony Brook defense, this week brings another tough match up with Patriot League favorites Colgate.
Montana at Cal Poly 2 p.m. RSNW: 687 / RSRM: 683 / RSSW: 674/ AUD: 601- The obvious FCS game of the week, Cal Poly fresh off a huge win at South Dakota State host undefeated Montana to open up Big Sky conference play. Cal Poly ran wild on SDSU last week, amassing over 600 yards of total offense meanwhile the Griz have been very stingy defensively but their offense has sputtered at times. As always with games against Cal Poly, trying to slow down their vaunted triple option is the key to victory. If the Griz can add a road win at CP to their resume it will be a clear sign that they are a team to be reckoned with in the FCS once again.
