avoid ames, if possible. and hickory park at all costs. at least on saturday.

If I may, I would suggest staying on I - 29, thru Hawk City (a nod to undie fans) to Council Blufffs; then head east on I -80 toward Des Moines; stay on it till you reach Iowa City. Interstate all the way.Originally Posted by Bison bison

94-169-494-35- 18 at Clear Lake-218- Cedar Rapids I 380- I 80. Should take you 7.5 hours You miss Ames and Des Moines. Ive made this trip numerous times on different routes and this is the fastest.

No reason to go thru SC from Fargo. Its an hour longer to go that way.

Aren't highways 18 and 218 state highways? Anyway, if you can get from Fargo to Iowa city thru Minnapple in 7.5 hours.... GO FOR IT !!!! I mapquested sioux falls to Iowa City thru Hawk City and it told me it's 6 hrs and 10 min ......may have to adjust my route.
