CSU FAN HERE!!! Let's get it on Bison!!!

What's up Bison! CSU fan/former player here. Just dropping in to talk a bit. What an opportunity for us. ESPN. #1 5X defending champ. We're gonna give yall our best shot and see where the dust settles. Read some good stuff about us on here and some other stuff people didn't know. A little background on CSU football:

Facilities: Yes ours are awful relative to FCS. Mostly just small. Our stuff is fairly nice what we have, just small. But why doesn't it matter here? The city. Charleston itself is our "facility". Rated by Conde Naste and Travel & Leisure as the #1 tourist city in America....if you're an 18 yr old college kid...this city is heaven. The women. Beaches. Nightlife. Food. I can't even describe it. We recruit with that. 4 years in paradise and playing ball. It allows us to get solid FCS talent with high school facilities. We've proudly called stadium "The Dump" in a loving way, and the "Buc Dome" for obvious reasons.

Crowds: We've been called a "commuter college" because so many students don't stay here or leave on weekends. (Downtown!) Traditionally we had all games at 1pm in Charleston heat on aluminum seats (huge nursing home behind trees at field, they didn't want lights/music/noise and city sided w them). It's slowly improving though (winning helps) but EVEN former players and alumni will spend most Saturdays watching Clemson and USC or other SEC.


Football: We went D3 to D1 overnight. Skipped D2. Bad idea. Played catch up mid 90s. Around 2000 team was getting much more competitive (00 team first to beat Liberty). Been uphill ever since.


"Trash talkers"? Someone said we don't have a message board. Correct. We dont. Yet some of our opponents have said we are trash talkers. Um....half true. We always played with a chip on our shoulder. Always fiesty. We've always been looked down on and always seen as "not supposed to be good". Southern Baptist school. Terrible stadium. Little history. And yes we have always had defensive coordinator with a bit of a aggressive swashbuckling style. We AREN'T a dirty team and never have been. But we may show a little swagger if we are winning.



Anyway just some background. If yall have any questions just ask. You all are big favorites and should be. Huge admiration for your program. I can only say....I hope this is game 1 of 2 between CSU and NDSU this year haha! If we can keep it within 14 going into the 4th...who knows.

Having been to Charleston several times, I can fully understand how that city is a recruiting tool. Great city...fascinating city...seems like a great place to live.

Transfers. We have always had quite a few. CSU isn't a destination school. But as said...we have a GREAT city and experience to sell. So we get a decent shot at FBS transfers.

Famous former footballers: We don't have any famous alumni from football. DB Charles James is w the Texans or Ravens and started a few games. Former 49ers head coach Mike Tomsula was an assistant here. A handful of others made NFL briefly but no one of recognition.

It's gonna be a great night of football. And yeah...it's gonna be a huge challenge. Yall will be the best team we've faced...ever....other than the obvious Alabama last year and FLA, FSU, UGA before that. Easily best FCS team we've ever faced.

Nah we won't ever be called cocky. But for the little school with the crappy stadium.....we bring all we got man. Have to. This program has always been fighting an uphill fight and it's FINALLY began to all come together the last few years.


Anyone know rhe spread, if there is one? I'm guessing odds makers will have us as at least 15 point dogs.
