The governor selects someone for each opening. I've never heard of someone being fired.

Appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Hopefully it will make some difference, however, structurally the governor's office is quite weak in North Dakota and the Legislature much more powerful.

After listening to him on Heitkamp's show yesterday, I dont hold hope he will be any different than the one we have now.
