Correct. Also why I'm a bit surprised the Vikings ended up making the 32nd pick and not being able to trade it away from someone (Carolina? Atlanta?) who is QB needy. That 5th year team option on the rookie contract can be huge for a team.

A lot of talk on teams trading into end of the first round last night for QBs. Didn't happen. Why? My feeling is fifth-year options on rookie deals becoming fully guaranteed in the 2020 CBA changed the dynamic completely.

In fact, those options can actually be problematic now.
