The Invaders are like watching a moderately talented D3 team except the playets are old, short and run slow 40 times. Most top D3 players hang up the cleats so these are the ones who dont, except they are typically local because nobody moves to play for them
XFL/USFL are the guys who just missed the 53 man NFL roster and are young and in their prime. Probably better than 99% of Power 5 schools minus the Georgia's, Bamas and Ohio States of the world. It's a great league with limited fans

Benchwarmers #28 (Bison Report #319) features Nash. He talks about recruiting (lots of FBS offers) and about how he almost didn't come back to NDSU after his dad died. And lots of other things. The point driven home to me is that NDSU football is hard, really hard. I have heard a number of stories about NDSU players who thought about giving it up, including some of the best like Nash. I mean, NDSU football is a lot of work, for one thing, but it's even tougher when you have outside stresses like he did.
The other thing that I've found out about NDSU from Benchwarmers is that there is a tremendous focus on being the "right" weight - and that can be extremely problematic.
What an easy guy to root for.
Yes, talk to any bison player in the last 10 years. This is Hard Dam Work and NDSU drives these kids hard and that's why they succeed!!
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?
