Congrats to Sierra Rosenau for her efforts in the Olympic Trials. Outstanding career at NDSU.

Erin Teschuk just won the Canadian Trials for the Olympics in the W 3000m Steeplechase. It was on the Canadian Live Feed.

She ran with the leaders at the beginning. Mid-race she ran with the Canadian record holder (Lalonde) who had pulled away from the pack. She dropped off, was about 20 yards behind the leader with 800m to go, then Erin found another gear, passed Lalonde at about the 300m-to-go mark and kicked it in to win. She looked smooth, strong. Got done, did not look wasted. She will be going to the Olympics.

    July 7 news:

o Rosenau finished 23rd in the qualifying round, so did not advance to the Finals.

Jessica Lehman (Dickinson HS and U-Minnesota) got 12th in the Heptathlon.
Her point total was a bit shy of her all-time best. If she replicated her all-time best, she would have been about 9th. But overall, nice job.

Leslie Brost made it to the finals of the W Pole Vault.
Those who cleared 4.40 meters (about 14' 5-1/2") made it to the finals, and a couple who cleared 4.35m.
The opening height of the finals was 4.40m, and Leslie did not make the opening height.
A great accomplishment to get into the finals.

Was Teschuk at the opening ceremony? I suppose athletes must train while they're down there before their events.

Would be hard to know, Canada had 300+ athletes going if I remember right. So their group was quite large.

Checked her twitter account. She's been in Brazil for the entire month of August, so I imagine she was at the opening ceremony. For a lot of athletes that has to be one of the highlights of your life.
