Better question is what plans does Fargo have to replace the Dome. It's a 25 year old facility. That's about the lifespan on things now days. IMO all parties should be looking at a new facility in the not too distant future.

Not sure where you got 25 years facility lifespan, but I was told the FargoDome was designed to have a 100 year lifespan. Sure the Metrodome and Georgia Dome had short lifespans, but that was due to the demands of NFL owners. College football is a different animal.

If the city was expecting to replace the FargoDome anytime soon, I doubt they would continually be making renovations/additions.

At some point renovating an older facility to meet modern codes is cost prohibitive. It won't be there for 100 years.

All that will be up to the city, not NDSU. With as much business the FargoDome gets, which doesn't include the Bison football games, they really don't have much of an incentive to build another dome.

As I stated before, if NDSU is to get a new stadium (it will be indoors), the money will most likely have to come from us fans/donors. The area where it will be built is another problem, but my guess is that it would be on lot of land NDSU owns on the NW corner of 19th and I29 - the same land Al Carlson was trying to force away from NDSU earlier this Spring.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1957_Fargo_tornado Sounds like the same area. Difficult to predict over time what may happen. Georgia Dome is a good example. Helped build the new one and the old one. Everyone here in GA thought it was going to be much longer term. Went through Golden ridge the day after in 57. A mess is a mess, everyone needs to make there best guess as to what the future will bring. The Bison are on everyone's radar for success. They have brought an awareness of quality programs and successful young people to everyone's attention. If it appears there is a need for something more and better then there is. We can only deal with what is and a good guess as to what doing the right things will bring to fruition.

The city will look at replacing it when they have to dump obscene amount of money on it to get the finances back in the black and the near future maintenance costs will be something they don't want to pay. Pretty sure it'll be around for 25-30 years yet.

As they note, they have no clue. 6k tries for single game. How many unique persons were trying? If you were on your phone, computer and your kid was trying, it at 1 person or 3 trying.

They should actually have people submit or sign up for single game tickets and they you know how many are actually trying to get tickets.

I guess they arent just sitting back collecting their paycheck as some have been yapping about.

But I did find this confusing------

""Inside the department walls, however, the assistant director of athletics for marketing and fan engagement is trying to avoid complacency like the football team did every year after winning five straight Division I FCS national titles.""

    Anyone know what his means?
