    Default 2016 Summit League Outdoor Championships

    The Bison men's throwers continue their Summit League dominance.

    On day 1 of the league's outdoor championships, the Bison racked up 63 points in two throwing events.

    NDSU finished 1,2,3,4, & 5 in the hammer throw and 1,2 & 3 in the javelin.

    The Bison women throwers scored 54 points on Thursday going 1,2,5,6,7, & 8 in the hammer.

    In the javelin, senior Sierra Rosenau won the event with a mark of 163' 11" (meet record)

    Also in the javelin, freshman Keyawna Larson took 4th throwing a personal-best 149-8 (45.61m) to rank third all-time at NDSU, and in only her second time ever throwing javelin.

    The men have an incredible 126 points after 5 events. They have a 92 point lead over 2nd place South Dakota.

    Decathalon: 1,2,3,4 & 5.
    Shot Put: 1,3,4,5,6, & 7.

    After day 2, the women are leading the pack with 166 points. South Dakota is the second place team with 96.5 points.

    Day 3 (today; Saturday May 14th)

    The women go 1,2,4, & 6 in the discuss.

    Erin Teschuk blows away the rest of the field in the 1500 meter run clocking in at 4.25.96 nearly a full 7 seconds ahead of the second place runner from USD.

    Through 21 events the Bison women still have a big lead over USD: 311 to 213 1/2.

    The men go 1,2 4, & 8 in the discuss.

    No athlete hits 50 feet in the triple.........<unusual> Oral Roberts' Tristin James came the closest at 49' 10 1/2".

    21 Events in the books and NDSU continues to enjoy a big lead with 262 team points. South Dakota is still in 2nd place with 196.
