Hard to believe that the _ND F'ing ChickenHawks averaged over 8300 per game. From the "highlights" I saw from their games with the huge expanse of empty seats everywhere, I would have guessed about half of that.

I made it to a game. Seemed pretty close to that. Plenty of empty seats but definitely over half of them occupied.

Yes, our attendance went up. Dacotah Field capacity was only about 13,000, and from those I know in the front office, the stadium wasn't always sold-out, or a near sell-out like it consistently has been the past few years.

Avg about 2-3k more a game but still about 5-6k short of a sell out.

Their old stadium was a pile of crap, kind of like the BSA. Just the new factor will help them. Place will have more seats too and a full 19k for the USD/NDSU games every year.

Most FCS schools attendance numbers are made up. Tough to tell if a stadium is 60% full vs. 80% full. Or if you're Oral Roberts, 15% full vs. 95% full. You want to see a schools real attendance numbers look at their playoff attendance.

Exactly.

In the playoffs I don't think schools count their band and others who don't have to pay to get in, but that's a minor difference. During the regular season, attendance figures are whatever the schools want them to be.

Fair enough. I BARELY remember the early years, at least as far as crowd, etc. The really lean years just stick in my head when they were would be an announced attendance of like 6k against something called Morningside.
