Wait, so they are saying it's possible to play DIII football and remain DI in everything else? I didn't think the NCAA allowed that. Or do they just require you to be DI in all sports if you are DI in football?

I am curious if this is the beginning of a shift among the G5 or if they will be stand alone examples.

UMass is in the same spot as Eastern Michigan. Faculty and students advocating for a move down or elimination.

It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. is there anything substantial to go off that there will be 3 divisions in less than a decade? I think the only place i've ever even heard of going to 3 divisions is bisonville.

Eastern Michigan appears quite foolish; although not sure if MAC would allow MAC for all sports but football?

I am so hoping UMass moves; these are NDSU peers and we need them in FCS.

Could create a quite a trend. Maybe fcs to d2 for schools that are not able to balance their athletic budgets.
