I agree with Bwa. At first I saw this like you SD. They are going to draft the QB that they think can go to a super bowl. However, in hindsight it does sound like a nice way to talk up the guy you're not taking. Also, how he changed it mid sentence from "win" to "go to" a superbowl almost comes off as if he's saying I like both. They both will make it to a super bowl we think Goff will win the superbowl. JMHO, with a little reading between the lines.
Every draft that there has been a two quarterback debate, leading up to the draft everyone usually starts leaning one way on who they think the pick will be. This year everyone is leaning Goff. Even the guys who have Wentz no. 1 are thinking the pick will be Goff. Usually when there's this much smoke there's fire.
The Eagles seem to love Wentz and it looks like that will be home.
I think it's do or die for Fisher. They win 3/4 or so he's done. So Im sure they're picking who they think is most ready.
Jeff Fischer drafted Steve McNair out of Alcorn State, he follows that path again by taking Wentz #1.
History repeats with Fisher taking a smaller school guy with all the intangibles.
People must be waiting until 7:15 P.M. tomorrow night to vote.
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
Paul Fix.
So which situation is better?
Rams:
Pros: Decent defense/OL. One of the best RBs.
Cons: Coaching Staff and not a lot of weapons to throw to.
Eagles
Pros: Better WR/TE. Pederson was OC under Reid and coached McNabb
Cons: Fan base, bad defense, inconsistent OL and running game
I like the Rams better. I like Fisher and Snead. Fisher's won when he's had a good quarterback. Just struggled when he didn't, and Snead I think has built an impressive roster. They don't have many picks for the next couple of seasons, but they really don't need them as young as they are. They could really use a couple wide receivers, though.
I don't hate Philly as a landing spot, and still think that's where he's going. Two things I'm not sold on either way is their defense and coaching staff. Their defense played a ton of snaps last year. I think they'll be improved just by the style Peterson will run, how much IDK. Peterson is also an unknown. He doesn't excite me, but he doesn't scare me either. Offensively they're better than the Rams, IMO, they have a better O line and better receivers. Gurley is obviously much better than any back on the Eagles squad.
I really think both these squads are mediocre, which sounds bad, but usually when you're a top 2 pick, you're usually going to a really bad team.
