Ole crapper! Isn't that the preferable place to read The Forum?

Haven't listened much this week but the time I have listened I really like the job Brian Shawn and Ross Uglem from Bison Report do filling in. Nice to hear some different voices once in a while.

So Bison 1660 got their first 5 months in the books. Absolutely loved it. Wish the football season couldn't have been extended a little longer though.

I'm curious how the rest of the year will look. Is there enough content to pull it off? What are the topics?

We got signing day the first week in February so that should be awesome. I really hope they milk this and give some big time coverage.

Baseball and Softball starts mid February and ends in mid May. So does Track and Field. Gives some talk but probably not a lot the average Joe cares about.

Obviously there should be some good basketball talk through March 4-7 at the Summitt League tournament and then hopefully the big dance...

You got some wrestling through January and February and the Big 12 Wrestling tournament and the NCAA Championships from early to mid March. Good for a little talk but nobody wants 5 day weeks talking pure wrestling.

Spring football starts in April and goes through the last week in April... that should be a great month of talk

You got the NFL draft but unfortunately we don't have the big name Carson Wentz this year... maybe a few guys will get some shots... (next year should be bigger with DeLuca)

    Then comes the slower months...
May (end of baseball/softball season/track field)
June (early June Track/FIeld NCAA National Championships)
    July - nothing
    Early August - nothing

I really hope they open up the discussion a little more than they have in the past. What do we talk about on Bisonville during the offseason?

11 o'clock show just answered your question about July. They both said they aren't going to be around much Not that I blame them, just saying.

I heard that. I assume that means they will have guys like Ross Uglum, Brian Shawn, or Chris Hanson host the show during the slow period in July. If you want to kill the momentum... take it off the air for a month. People are a product of habit.

Noticed my Insiders RSS quit working. I think they may have finally split Keith's show from The Insiders. (BTW, for those who are only streaming, trust me, often, downloading is better; you avoid the ads and the when you get a call, it stops/restarts at the same spot.)

If Bison 1660 wants to grow their listening base, they need to do a better job cross promoting with NDSU Athletics. Example. If you look at Facebook and Twitter, the top NDSU Athletics accounts are as follows.

    FACEBOOK
North Dakota State Bison - 108,000 Likes
NDSU Bison Football Fans - 17,000 Likes

    TWITTER
    NDSU Athletics - 60,000 followers
    NDSU Football - 40,000 followers
    NDSU Basketball - 10,000 followers

Then you got the new guys Bison1660 who only have 1500 Twitter followers and 1200 Facebook Likes.

Of these 5 major NDSU social media accounts, not once have they re tweeted or shared anything from Bison 1660. What's sad is I'm sure when they have great interviews like Mack Brown, Adam Amin, and Anish Shroff - Bison Fans would love to listen to these. Heck I would be willing to bet that most of their twitter followers don't even know the station exists yet.

So whoever controls the social media accounts for Bison 1660 and NDSU... you guys really need to work together and retweet or share the Bison1660 stuff. (not just the Jeff Culhane and Keith Brake stuff)

In my opinion the 4 o'clock show is getting pretty close to un-listenable right now. It truly feels like they are talking about anything under the sun to fill the two hours. I didn't know there was absolutely nothing sports wise to talk about right now.

That was my porn name in the 1998 Norwegian classic "Throbbin' Hood".
