1660am rebranding to "The Bison."

That's my complaint about 1660 as well. The station has the signal strength of two tin cans connected with a piece of string. NDSU should have gone with a station that had greater coverage, or stayed with the old format. It's preposterous to believe that this will succeed when no one outside the metro can hear it.

I can't even listen to the Bison tailgate show any more on game days. I have to wait until 30 minutes before game time when KSJB starts carrying the pregame. I don't see this ever amounting to much.

Why not use the app or stream online? It's the future of radio.

On a couple of recent trips I was able to get 1660 almost all the way to Sisseton to the South and Park River to the North. Granted both are still in the valley, but that is about 70 miles as the Nazgul flies from Fargo both ways. Also it was in the day. Is this good distance for radio? I have heard that KFYR out of Bismark covers nearly the whole state.

So yea, 1660 is a little under powered, but also, KFYR's tower sits on a rock formation that somehow boost's their range.... I think...

Sorry, but I like listening to radio as it was intended to be listened too. Besides, I jump around between a lot of stations as they have grain markets given.

As an aside, Jan '14, 2013 title game, I was on the same plane as Grant's parents. Talked to them for quite a while after we landed. He clearly came from good stock.

I hope they have something big planned for the month of April for Spring Camp, The Spring Game, The Showcase, and the coaches Clinic. With Gruden in town - should have the potential for some kick ass interviews. Would love to hear more daily interviews with players during camp. Unforunately spring ratings goes through June so they will have to kill it in April. Baseball and softball goes through mid May. The only thing going on in late may or early June is track and field nationals. Softball/Baseball NCAA tournament is late May if we make the tournament
