Was thinking today that with all the media attention/national exposure we are getting from CW, and what we will get from him and JH in the draft and going forward (along with the other ESPN exposure we have been getting the last many years) that, if we were to win yet another Natty next year and host GD (the latter wouldn't matter IMO) it all might be just enough for FBS conferences to consider an invite. It just might be enough, it there isn't enough already.

Also if NDSU wins a 6th natty in a row FCS teams will start petitioning the NCAA to do something. If not assisting a NDSU move to FBS the NCAA will do things to mess up the playoffs, reduce scholarships, etc.

Money is the biggest obstacle IMO. Location to some degree. Most FBS teams fly...check for Hector. Teams playing Wyoming have to bus up to Laramie...I think.

Location is our biggest issue.... Television market is what they are looking at we can't compare ourselves to Wyoming as they are and have been FBS for a long long time they don't have to be invited we do

Like always, I suggest taking the FBS steps that are good things to do whether or not NDSU gets an FBS invitation - like adding the two women's sports we'd need, expanding the FargoDome, paying our coaches more, etc. The 8-year TM plan as part of that.

I stopped at reading a university's general fund is tax dollars. Grants, endowments, etc are not quite on his learning curve.

Are there figures that show how many non-student athletes get valuable job training by supporting athletics in other roles? Or how many on campus jobs athletics create? Does that not fit the narrative?

I think there was a lot of misinformation in that blob blurb. Not positive, but I don't believe football and hockey have been "financial boons" if one looks at their costs in addition to their revenue.
