In...say...a 30 person bracket, picking the likely winner is a much more 'sound' strategy. To win a 400 person field, you have to pick out of the box a bit more.

I'm a risk-averse wuss and hedged by betting OU in the f4 and UNC in the finals so I only got ~75% of what I would have won. At least I guaranteed myself profit both games!
