We didn't lose out because we're FCS. We lost out because DeKalb, IL is way closer to Green Bay than Fargo.

The other recruits from last year would have been lost if we were in the friggin Big Ten.

How many recruits have we gained by not being FBS? I'm guessing more then a few would rather play for a NC and a ring then to just say they played FBS at Ball State.

Spot on. I all kids cared about was P5, then G5, then FCS, and if the FBS label is such a draw Easton Stick would be at Rutgers, Ellefson would be at Purdue, Radunz would be at Missouri, and a shitload of current players would be at G5 schools simply so they could be FBS.

Exactly. Playoffs and championships create an excitement and following that recruits mention when asked why they choose NDSU. I think this is an advantage over some G5 schools, but at some point the prestige of the higher level FBS programs takes over.

Wrong Wrong Wrong!!!! haven't you been listening all this time. These recruits want an FBS School so they have a chance to play in the Music City Bowl, Why come to a school that plays for dumb championships, plays on ESPN, has an incredible following and and incredible atmosphere. Come on guys your smarter than this.

Let's slow down here. We are the exception to the rule and who knows what happens when this run finally does end. If you guys really think there is no appeal to playing in a bowl game, you do need to think again. NDSU is likely getting noticed more for the Carson Wentz thing than the championships. Kids want to know they will be developed where they go...and we can show anything is possible...even the #2 overall pick in the draft. I know some of you are REALLY out of touch with young kids these days, mostly because I'm not that old and I feel like I am pretty out of touch. Some of you FCS people are as bad or worse than the FBS crowd because you can't possibly see how playing in the FBS would be better than playing in the FCS. Frankly, same goes for kids that go to other programs. Some kids like to be the face of the turnaround while others want a piece of the magic/tradition. It's how recruiting works...you find what the kid is most concerned with and play to that strength. We just happen to have a lot of them right now.

Warning: It is the offseason. Trollolol may or may not be in full swing. Take a deep breath and eat a trolli burger before reading my posts.
