Kids want to know they will be developed where they go...and we can show anything is possible...even the #2 overall pick in the draft. I know some of you are REALLY out of touch with young kids these days, mostly because I'm not that old and I feel like I am pretty out of touch. Some of you FCS people are as bad or worse than the FBS crowd because you can't possibly see how playing in the FBS would be better than playing in the FCS. Frankly, same goes for kids that go to other programs. Some kids like to be the face of the turnaround while others want a piece of the magic/tradition. It's how recruiting works...you find what the kid is most concerned with and play to that strength. We just happen to have a lot of them right now.
Have to agree with most of your post. Most people cant see why FBS is a greater allure than FCS. Why? Because theyve never had the opportunity to be in a position to make that decsion. All they need to do is ask all of the players who were bypassed by the bigs. If they would have been offered NDSU wouldnt have seen hide nor hair of them.
My only exception to your post is "kids want to know if they are going to be developed". May be half the kids? As many just want to keep playing no matter where they go. There are many kid who play in the P5 and G5 and know they arent going any further. Granted our program is different than most in our division and we recruit a different player. Cant paint them all with the same brush.

It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.
