Thunderstruck Makers 2020 Year In Review (or .. What Else Didn't We Get Done This Year, Part V)

January - NDSU goes on to win it's 8th Football Championship in 9 years, but, once again, there's not so much as a sniff from AC/DC about coming to the Fargo Dome West Lot, nor a damn word from Thunderstruck Makers themselves about the whole sordid affair. What could possibly be keeping Thunderstruck Makers from communicating with their loyal, yearning masses. One really has to wonder?! ......... Or not.

February - After 8 months of crickets from Thunderstruck Makers, Loaf finally breaks his long, self-imposed (so he says) silence after being trolled (like an rank amateur) back out into the open by the likes of longtime ThM lackies and miscreants CAS, Chubs, and Fanette. No explanation is ever given for the prior sudden disappearance of the great man, which certainly makes loose tongues wag even more. One of the more interesting speculations starts with the old saw that Loaf doesn't have AC/DC lined up again, so is in China having the Commies help him come up with a way to get out of the whole AC/DC appearance thing. Maybe a pandemic, you say? OMG, come on, people! Get a grip.

March - What's this? Coronavirus rears it's ugly head and ThM rushes into action many days and weeks later by following the lead of like-minded peer events, such as SXSW and Coachella, and cancels (in order to save all of mankind) the surely-gonna-be-this-time AC/DC appearance of the 2020 tailgating season. Darn it, the luck, anyway. Indeed, it turns out that Loaf himself must self-quarantine during March in the ThM bunker, and he does the world a great and noble service by being the first to chronicle the terrible physical and emotional effects of his unnatural isolation. A Pulitzer Prize for this work is currently pending. In addition, the post office has to add extra staff in order to keep up with all the get well cards, letters, and brassieres being delivered to the SUPPOSED (dammit) unknown and secret location of the ThM bunker.

    http://www.bisonville.com/forum/show...08#post1418008

April - Loaf finally gets out of self-quarantine after pinky-promising to abide by the strict stipulations of a 16-week plan from the State Board of Higher Tailgating for re-entry back into decent society, whether decent society is ready for it or not. Little did the SBOHT know that, brilliantly, Loaf had his fingers crossed behind his back when he made his pinky-promise, so legally, the binding nature of it was completely and utterly negated - as previously ruled in the 1995 ND Supreme Court case of 'ThM vs The Milk Drinkers of Section 20'. Ha, Ha SBOHT! What a bunch of suckers you are! Geez, everybody by now knows the 'ole fingers-crossed-behind-the-back trick, don't they?!

May - In anticipation of the fall tailgate season .... and from their great concern over the safety and well-being of their beloved constituents .... AND in order to head off the prospect of not being allowed to consume alcohol at large, knee-buckling levels in the West Lot .... ThM becomes one of the first organizations of its kind (after literally BEING the first organization of its kind) to release a comprehensive Social-Distancing Protocol for their highly anticipated events. In commemoration of this historically empathetic and emotive document, ThM also releases another bastardized AC/DC musical selection called "Fire The Grills".

June - A few disgruntled ThM Members that shall go nameless for their own safety and protection (TAB and CyPanth, among others), begin peaceful protests over God Knows What by throwing rocks (like a girl), burning dumpsters, urinating in public, denigrating Cheetos, and calling for ThM Head Honcho elections. What a bunch of disgusting pigs! ThM answers this nonsense like it always does ... with another AC/DC parody entitled "Gone Lootin'" .... but after some very dangerous demands and threats are made, ThM seems to be knocked off their game when they inexplicably issue a lyrical cover of a Nickelback song called "Herd Fan". Holy hell, Nickelback for eff sakes! What ever happened to the once-revered ThM that we all grew up with? Just sad really.

July - Things settle down a bit when ThM regains its regal bearing and threatens to replace Thunderstruck Makers with ThunderCRACK Makers, and everyone begins to realize they they were not talking about crack as in drugs. It appears then that 'Thunderstruck Makers' doesn't seem to be so darn bad to all the looters and rioters after all, once they realize what they actually COULD be getting their noses into.

    http://www.bisonville.com/forum/show...46#post1436946

August - Okay, let's be honest, ThM pretty much phoned the month of August in, and STILL got paid a substantial and grotesque-tical amount of donor money for it. (Yeah, we love to use the word 'grotesque-tical'. Is that so wrong?)

September - As our heroes at ThM ramp up for the 2020 Tailgate Season, the Powers-That-Be pull the rug out from under everyone's ample northern asses with their fear and loathing over Covid. ThM does not appreciate the late cancellation notice and responds in their own unintimidated way .... with an ugly country music parody entitled 'Take This Mask And Shove It'. ThM then ups the ante by promising to continue releasing disgusting country music parodies until the Powers-That-Be relent in starting tailgating back up again, ultimately culminating in the highly escalating coup-de-grace 'Thank God I'm A Covid Boy!' History proves, however, that there can be no winners in any showdown that involves country music.

October - A Great News/Sucky News kind of month in which the world finally gets new music from AC/DC (that's the great news, in case you GA Tailgaters were wondering), but Thunderstruck Makers finds itself in a death struggle trying to maintain fast-shrinking donor rolls over their newfound wokedness, social consciousness, and all the fallout from their overtly political kneeling campaign during the Thunderstruck Intro. Big, big mistake and the lessons learned in this latest donor crisis were subsequently chronicled in the parody 'Donor's Dash'.

    http://www.bisonville.com/forum/show...91#post1457591

November - ThM, unfortunately, has a good friend and member from it's Hospitality Tent pass away, and allows itself to get serious for just a brief moment. Meanwhile, AC/DC continues to release more music from their new album at a rate that makes ThM look like they're sitting on their damn thumbs and actually enjoying it. But, just when you thought the organization couldn't get more contemplative and reflective, they release the long awaited 'Thanksgiving Story (according to Thunderstruck Makers)' that is sure to be required reading for all tailgating families at future holiday gatherings.

    http://www.bisonville.com/forum/show...42#post1462442

December - Thunderstruck Makers bids a sincere F#@&k-You to the Year 2020, as the organization dreams of the beautiful things to come in the years ahead with 'Twas The Hour Before Meet 'n Greet'.

For the record, my prolonged absence from this site had nothing to do with Loaf. I was not with him, nor did he cause my absence, regardless of what he says.

P.S. Might AC/DC make an appearance on April 10th? Just because Loaf can't get it done doesn't mean I can't.

    Dear Thunderstuckers!

Hell's Bells! Every damn time there is regime change at the national level, we, your lovable stud muffins at Thunderstruck Makers, get slapped with a totally ridiculous and completely unnecessary financial audit. It's almost like they don't trust us with the important work that we do for all you little people!

Well, let me tell you something! We are not some naďve hicks from the northern hinterlands who can't make correct change, and we SURE AS HELL are not afraid of what we continually attempt to hide financially around here. When legally forced to, we always gladly and openly share our books with you, the large masses of followers that have come to rely on us for your Rock and Roll tailgating dreams.

Here then, in open defiance of our long-standing policy of obscuring and suppressing, are ThM's financial records that were subpoenaed recently for audit. We certainly expect no issues with what has been presented, but we DO expect a formal apology, at sometime in the near future, from everyone who ever questioned our monetary acumen.

    Fiscally yours,
    Loaf

My Dear Hurting ThM Bretheren and Sisteren,

As this odd and debilitating non-tailgating season is now upon us, and even though ............ for the first time since Thunderstruck Makers invented tailgating way back when .............. we won't be out there making fools of ourselves this time, we can 100% assure everyone that, as God is our witness, we shall never go drink-less again, and we will continue to fight for the right to make even greater fools of ourselves in the future! (Dammit, are you guys in the speech-writing department sure this is the correct wording for this copy?!)

When you see the empty West Lot this season, I implore you to look away from it and just try to remember those that fought and sacrificed so damn much in order for all of us to be able to enjoy each other's company before football games, cook up a dead animal carcass to partake in, talk bodacious smack with the finest of our opponents, and drink alcohol to our little hearts content.

All you need to do to get through this uncertain time is to (1) remember the rich history of Thunderstruck Makers itself, (2) continue sending in your substantial free-will donations, and (3) follow us blindly in anything and everything we do. (Okay, now that's more like it!)

To hearten you until we meet again, we've dug deep into our historical archives ... free of charge ... for some inspirational quotes from one of our least known (at the time) early Thunderstruck Makers Members. God Bless!

    Loaf

    From the ThM Historical Archives:

"Never in the bloody field of thunderous, competitive football has so much winning been given to so few select fans, by so many Bison teams." - Winston Churchill proclaims NDSU Football's finest hour.

"You have enemies? Good. That means your dear Bison have kicked someody's ass real good at sometime, somplace in your life." - Winston Churchill cuts a Bisonville snowflake off at the knees.

"To be a Thunderstruck Maker is to have the ability to promise what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month or next year. And to have the kahones afterwards to explain why it didn’t happen. - Winston Churchill teaching a class of early ThM recruits.

"You shall defend the West Lot of your Fargo Dome and Toyota Stadium homes, whatever the cost may be. You shall "bring it" in the tailgating lots, you shall "bring it" in the admission lines, you shall "bring it" up to your seats, and you sure as hell shall "bring it" after the inevitable victory is secured." - Winston Churchill firing up ThM Members with a toast at the pre-game tailgate.

"To improve is to run power, so to be perfect is to run power often .......... and in hurry-up fashion." - Winston Churchill expounds on his play-calling philosophy on offense.

"Tailgating history will be kind to Thunderstruck Makers, because they fully intend to re-write it in their own image." - Winston Churchill tells all other faux online tailgating organizations to kiss off.

"The greatest lesson in life is to know that even fools who think they can get AC/DC in here for a live intro ....... are right sometimes." - Winston Churchill at his Thunderstruck Makers membership hazing party.

"You must shake Pom-Poms because when they shake themselves, they shake YOU to the core." — Winston Churchill locks his eyes on to the ThM Dance Line as it walks by.

"Bison Fans have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of them." - Winston Churchill, right before shotgunning a beer in the West Lot.

"We shall not fail or falter. We shall not weaken or tire. Neither the sudden shock of wet pants nor a long-drawn out bout of cross-legged hopping will wear us down. Give us more stools, Powers-That-Be, and we will finish the job within us." - Winston Churchill pontificating in the port-a-potty line.

"Never, never, never give up. Unless it just gets too hard. - Winston Churchill reciting the Thunderstruck Maker's Sacred Motto.

"I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober ............. and your team still will have been beaten to a bloody damn pulp by NDSU." - Winston Churchill disdains common chivalry at an opponent's tailgate.

"If your team happens to be sent to and through the football hell that is Fargo ..... just keep on going ..... sucker." - Winston Churchill opines about FCS Selection Committee politics.

"A rumor gets halfway around the Tailgate Lot before Loaf has a chance to get his pants back on." - Winston Churchill addresses Milk Drinker concerns about ThM leadership drunkenly soiling themselves again.

"It is not enough that we simply do our best drinking in the tailgating lots, sometimes we must do the type of hard drinking that is required of us to help the Bison win." - Winston Churchill verbalizes Bison Tailgating mystique and values.

"Every man should ask himself each and every goddamn day, whether he is not too readily accepting of another Bison punt!" - Winston Churchill yelling from the stands at the Bison coaching staff.

"All the greatest rock songs are simple and performed by AC/DC, and many can be expressed in a single word: Eat Shit and Die, Powers-That-Be!" - Winston Churchill obviously starting to "feel it" after a long day of tailgating.

"Evils can be created much quicker than they can be cured. <long pause> SO RUN THE DAMN BALL!" - Winston Churchill crank-calling the Athletics Department (again!) to voice his recent game displeasure.

"There are a terrible lot of lies regarding Bison Loaf going about this tailgate lot, and the worst of it is that half of them are true." - Winston Churchill coming to the very tepid defense of ThM leadership.

Funny you should mention the puppies (wait, are we talking about the dogs here?), because among our many important duties in this extremely important job (oh, there's just this little thing about getting AC/DC in for a Live Intro - maybe you've heard of it?), we have been working on adding to our Thunderstruck Makers Abridged Dictionary and have a new entry for Mighty Finn the Stud that I can secretly preview for you:

Mighty Finn the Stud - Term of endearment used here at ThM. Refers to the Legendary Goldendoodle stud who serves at the pleasure of those bitches in the Fanette canine stable and puts everything he's got into everything he does. Favorite AC/DC song is "Givin' The Dog A Bone" from 1980's Back in Black Album. Fitting choice. TWSS.
