Had a good friend and member of our tailgating group pass away recently ................... and I'll miss him.
He very much loved his Bison football team, tailgating, and classic country music. So all that is left for me to do is gather up my sadness and try to bring all these things together somehow, for him, in an everlasting appreciation of his friendship.
I'll Still Miss Someone .......................................
If we ever get back to our tailgate
In the fall when the cold winds come
We'll be laughing and enjoying some football
But I'll still miss someone
When the tent is set up and all ready
And it's time for a little fun
I'll be expecting his coming arrival
'Cause I'll still miss someone
Oh I'll never get over that smile of his
And the stories of war that he'd share
And the twinkle in his eyes when we'd pour a drink
For the toasts that he made with such care
He always did love that black crossbones flag
As it floated and fluttered in the sun
We'll still raise it each game with the rest of them
But I'll still miss someone
It's so hard to forget those shots of insulin
That he'd take before he'd eat or drink
All the things he had to do just to be there
Makes a healthy man like me stop and think
Oh I'll never forget his sheer gratefulness
Every time that our tailgate was done
But in the end it is I with great thankfulness
'Cause I'll still miss someone
