Had a good friend and member of our tailgating group pass away recently ................... and I'll miss him.

He very much loved his Bison football team, tailgating, and classic country music. So all that is left for me to do is gather up my sadness and try to bring all these things together somehow, for him, in an everlasting appreciation of his friendship.

    I'll Still Miss Someone .......................................

If we ever get back to our tailgate
In the fall when the cold winds come
We'll be laughing and enjoying some football
    But I'll still miss someone

When the tent is set up and all ready
And it's time for a little fun
I'll be expecting his coming arrival
    'Cause I'll still miss someone

Oh I'll never get over that smile of his
And the stories of war that he'd share
And the twinkle in his eyes when we'd pour a drink
For the toasts that he made with such care

He always did love that black crossbones flag
As it floated and fluttered in the sun
We'll still raise it each game with the rest of them
    But I'll still miss someone

It's so hard to forget those shots of insulin
That he'd take before he'd eat or drink
All the things he had to do just to be there
Makes a healthy man like me stop and think

Oh I'll never forget his sheer gratefulness
Every time that our tailgate was done
But in the end it is I with great thankfulness
    'Cause I'll still miss someone

Wow, these guys are really working hard to get back into the good graces of Thunderstruck Makers! Man, if we had tailgating right now, I bet the chances of us getting them in here for a live West Lot performance would be even BETTER than those same chances ever were in the first place when we seemingly never had a chance.

AC/DC Earns Their 1st Number One Single on the Mainstream Rock Chart in 12 Years with "Shot In The Dark" ............. https://www.billboard.com/articles/b...-1-in-12-years
And THEN they unleashed another single, before tomorrow's new album release of "Power Up" ............................... (sorry, no references to Rolling Thunder Trucks in this song, dammit)

You know, somebody really should get their butt out of bed, take off their 'Rona mask, put the crack pipe down, get some pants (and underwear) on, and go to work on this!!

    My Dear Deluded ThM Members,

As you can only imagine, a world tailgating heavyweight and swanky social season A-lister like me, gets quite a few perks and benefits over your average mullet-headed General Admission tailgater, or, for that matter, even your whine and cheese Reserved tailgater that bought their way into the West Lot with Mommy and Daddy's money and priority points (we still love'm though!).

So, yes, when AC/DC comes out with their first new album in 6 long years, it should come as no surprise to anyone that the really important people like me (other people's words, not mine) find themselves on AC/DC's exclusive VIP "First To Receive" list. Even among the acrimony and vitriol at times between me and our dear, dear "Boys" (sob, sniffle) over their inexplicable and indefensible failure to appear for a Live Intro and Meet 'n Greet (dammit those guys!), it is still quite touching to receive such a sincere, personal note of appreciation that was cleverly and tenderly hidden within the packaging of my commemorative, rush-shipped copy of their latest classic work.

Heart to heart, legend to legend, compadres, comrades, confidantes, co-dependents. A private glimpse into one special relationship for the ages, for no one else's eyes to see or share .............................................

EXCEPT THAT ...... HERE IT IS! Read it and weep, all you naysayers. Put your eyes to words and set your hearts afire, and never, ever, EVER doubt the clout of Thunderstruck Makers again.

The Thanksgiving Story (According To Thunderstruck Makers)

My Dear, Sweet, Impressionable Young ThM Children,
Gather 'round your Uncle Loaf now, all while remembering to sit still and shut the hell up, as I tell the true Thanksgiving Story of Thunderstruck Makers ................................

Once upon a time, in the very early beginning, the original clan of what we now know as Thunderstruck Makers, were then known as Pissgrins, and came to this new land on a really gnarly boat that they hijacked called The Deflower.

They came to this land because they were constantly persecuted for their stunning good looks, their outstanding intelligence, their love of power football, their propensity to play rock & roll music way too loud at all hours of the day, and their endless consumption of mass quantities of alcohol. Indeed, they had invented the religion of "tailgating" as the world now knows it, but none of the dumbshits in their own land would let them practice this newfound religion in the way they wanted to, or the way it was meant to be - which obviously, duh, was all out, full speed, all the time. So, after a few choice obscenities (and some minor acts of vandalism) that were directed at their persecutors, the Pissgrins stormed off in a huff in search of a new land - and life - in which they could freely become the greatly admired people that they are today. (Excuse me a minute, kids, while I wipe away these darn tears of mine.)

Lo and behold, our heroes finally landed in the new land, as was pre-ordained, upon the now famous landmark of "Classic Rock" and were greeted by the various native peoples of that place, called Bizons, Acca Daccas, and Boozers. The Pissgrins were very hungry after their long trip, so were immediately fed by their new friends, a feast that included multiple helpings of winning football, unlimited refills of the sweet nectar of the native Copper Still plant, and an enchanting song of thanksgiving (including a very seductive bikini dance from a chorus line that included shaking native pom-poms) called 'Thunderstruck' performed by the native Acca Daccas - one of which wore some really odd looking short pants. This, dear children, is the feast that we still celebrate today. (Hey you! Sit down, dammit! Don't make me come back there!)

Well, the Pissgrins were so impressed with their new world that they immediately changed their name to 'Thunderstruck Makers' and elected a wise, benevolent, lifetime leader by the name of W. Bradford Loaf, who ended up writing a set of sacred rules for the new Thunderstruck Makers clan. These rules, known as the Deflowering Compact, became the lifeblood of Thunderstruck Makers, and continue to be so to this very day. This magical document provides for, among other things, the perpetual leadership of the group within the bloodline of Bradford Loaf's progeny, the partaking of the Copper Still plant at least once a week during football season, and the playing of 'Thunderstruck' during all major life events - with NO exceptions. It also strictly forbids rap, disco, or Manilow music, passing the football more than once a half, or having an empty booze cup for more than two minutes while practicing our tailgating religion.

Anyway, blah, blah blah, the story goes on and on, but you damn kids are getting antsy and my patience is running dangerously thin right now, so just know that those gathered at this historic feast finally said 'Amen' for their great blessings, and the peoples of this new land lived in peace and harmony for the rest of their days.

    Well ............... not quite.

Unfortunately, to gain complete control and dominion over their beloved new land (subsequently named 'The West Lot'), the Thunderstruckers ended up waging total nuclear war on other bastard native peoples of the new land called 'Dome Nazi's', 'Knitters', and 'Milk Drinkers" in which a long, hard victory was ultimately secured after much death and destruction ............... but that is a very bloody and gory tale best left for another time.

(Oh yeah, NOW you pay attention. )

    The End.
