I'm surprised there isn't more conversation about the two recent commits. I guess it is fb season in a fb town though. Hopefully someone who is knowledgeable about bb can add a bit to what they bring to the table.

I saw that one had an offer from UNI. Does this mean that they HAD (as in past tense) an offer at one point or that SU actually beat out UNI on a bb commit? Sounds like a promising kid either way, but that would be a big story I would think since UNI has such strong bb history.

He was offered on 9/18. Unless it was an expiring offer, it would appear he currently had one. Altho, it is stated in this thread UNI already has a 4* commit at that position.

Cook had two other offers from UNI and Wisconsin Green Bay. Huge get for the Bison BB program. Follow the lead of Bison football recruiting and get a few of the higher division types.

    on Jarius CooK:

Cook has fundamentally sound game, and a textbook jumpshot. He's not overly quick, and doesn't look like he'll jump out of the gym, but he takes it to the rack with confidence and can finish with both left and right, and he has a mid-range pull-up. Handles the ball effectively and appears to have a good feel for the game.

6’ 7” 210 PF Cole Bergan verbaled to the hometown Northern State Wolves.
Had a NDSU offer (possibly not active) among others including SDSU, Fighting Hawks

Very interesting--has to be something more to this; if several higher level offers and settles at D2

His hometown so maybe that was enough to stay. Girlfriend? who knows?

6’ 10” Joe Hedstrom of Hopkins verbaled to Wisconsin - 4/5 year scholarship package for the 2018 C.
Hedstrom also had an offer from Utah, also an early offer from NDSU before his recruiting took off.
Too bad the Gophers couldn’t find room for him, but they are short of available schollies now so did not offer.
