They always say how tough our defense is to learn and that’s why most the time it takes 1-2 years learning the defense (even cox redshirted because of this). I will say if he can be as impactful at a major P5 school as he was at NDSU he will know doubt improve his stock drastically with his athletic ability.
    The “if” is the risk, compared to staying here with no “if” factor.

    I totally agree. High risk high reward. Hopefully he made the right decision and does well. Wish him nothing but the best even though it sucks he’s leaving

    Is he leaving for sure or putting out feelers? Agree it's a big risk with no spring ball unless he goes to K-state

    I wonder if it’s better to be a man among boys or a man among men.
    I agree this could be a risk

    As a threshold matter, I’m neither angry nor upset with him for doing what he wants/what he feels is best for his future, but:

    1. If he stays here, he pretty much guarantees himself a Senior Bowl and Combine invite because of his level of play in FCS, which is well above competition. If Dante Olson from MT got those chances, there is no question Cox would have, and would have likely improved his draft stock at those events;

    2. Zero guarantee he gets either of those chances after next year unless he shines at FBS level. Good chance he gets lost in the mix of other, very comparable LBs at the FBS level IMO.

    In short, I feel it’s a poor “career” move for him under the circumstances, but wish him the best of luck.

    My assumptions really don't matter anyways. He is doing it the way he wants to and can. No matter what happens, my life will not be effected by what Jabril Cox does or doesn't do.

    Per Max Olson of The Athletic, Cox only followed back coaches of Alabama, LSU and Tennessee.
