There is a reason why you don't see often that a Wide Receiver has tremendous success as a rookie be it as a freshman in college or a first year NFL player. There may be a lot of hype for someone but it rarely works out. Wide Receiver is a position of intricacy and timing and trust between the WR and QB. Even a free agent WR takes time to get on the same page as their QB. The trust between a WR and QB that they are both going to run A route or B route depending on how the Defense is playing them is not just a quick learn it for a play or two a game.
