He allegedly had 30 offers, including FBS, but they all went cold supposedly after he drug his feet a little too long.

    Jabril … wish you well.

That said, I am not convinced this is the best move for his career. If he just wanted to get out of Fargo or is unhappy with the coaches - something he probably would not want to say publicly - then it is understandable. If he needs courses NDSU does not offer, this is understandable. If it is to improve his NFL or high-draft chances, this move isn't going to do much. Not much upside, since he is already on scouts 'go to' lists, and plenty of downside.

Vernon Adams transferred from Eastern Washington - where he starred as a QB - to Oregon, where he played mediocre. He did not get in the NFL. After five years as a back-up in he CFL, he finally got to be a starter (on the 10-8 Montreal team). Did going to Oregon help him? Probably not. The CFL probably would have given him a shot based on his EW performance. His five years or so as a backup? That is more time than he spent in college, so he is starter today not b/c of his one-year at Oregon, but b/c of his five years as a backup.

How about Paige Stratioti - Bison 800m runner. Followed Ryun Godfrey to Kansas State for her senior year. Ran 2:06 800m, a terrific time, while at NDSU - went to NCAAs twice (I believe). If she would have stayed at NDSU, she probably would have improved on that. How did she do at Kansas State - got worse, not better - times were slower and no NCAA.

Jabril has the option of returning to NDSU and he probably should, IMO. Return with a good attitude. Decide to play 110% against Oregon and stuff them. Play out a final year of helping NDSU be successful, and he will get a high draft. Once in, then the NFL teams don't really care where an athlete went to school; they want an athlete who can get it done on the field in an NFL setting.

    sorry about the long post.

Or go to LSU and play in front of 100,000 every Saturday on primetime TV. Tough choice

I think Jabril had another gear he can hit EVERY play if he is challenged more. At our level he simply is athletically dominant and frankly looked bored from time to time. Might be a good move for him, might run his career. Roll of the dice

I don’t think Vernon Adams has a shot at the nfl regardless. He was to small and not the strongest arm

The biggest quote in that video: "Everybody wants him."

Personally, I don't know if Jabril could have been higher than a third round pick had he stayed at NDSU due to how many good to great LBs there are at the FBS level (this is why it is hard to use the Carson argument as good to great QBs at any division in college is hard to find). By going to a place like LSU and betting on himself, he now has a chance at being a first round pick.

Plus he was a turnover machine, especially during important games at EWU.

Is is too early to hope for the "Jabril Cox indoor practice facility" on campus thanks to a big donation from a 1st round draft pick?

    Yes. The keyword is "chance".
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
