I hear Roger Maris was by far the greatest high school football player ever from ND. He graduated from high school football in 1952 and was recruited to play quarterback at Oklahoma. Keep in mind Oklahoma was a powerhouse in the early to mid 1950's. If memory serves me correct, he still hold the ND high school football record for most return TD's in a game at 4. My grandpa told me he was truly a man amongst boys in high school.

Yes they were. We (DLB) held them to the closed game of the year 28-0, and I think they only got scored on once by Belcourt on a bomb or something.

You CANNOT Forget about Velva's run from 2000-2010.

I dont think Velva has ever lost a game at home, thanks to their home town janitors, cooks and teachers being the refs all the time. I intercepted an out in the end zone from the far hash, receiver fell down, no one within 40 yds, running unmolested for a back breaking TD and the ref blew the whistle. play stopped, call was an inadvertent whistle = we lost. Ask Jon Dahl, he knows of what I speak lol.

That was a time 9 man football had some powerhouse programs

Throw in 94 and 99 and add edgeley-Kulm rebels throughout that time frame
