If anything, ISU is one of the biggest anomalies of P5 college football. It's in a relatively small town with little to no sustained success in football, yet the atmosphere is pretty awesome. With that said, I am not a huge fan of the town portion of the scene. It just doesn't compare to the truly great college towns of the midwest...most of which are in the Big 10. No offense.

This week's game will be the reality check that apparently the Hok fans didn't get in the Rose Bowl last year. There will be no "we had a great time in Pasadena anyway" lines.

I'm going to enjoy watching the Bison humble the Hoks . . . and then be humbled in Cedar Falls later in the season.
