Default Bison Nation helping Texas tornado relief with donations!!!

I haven't seen this on Bisonville yet, so I started this thread. Over at #1 NDSU Bison Fan's Facebook group, there are trying to get Bison fans to bring donations to Texas for tornado relief. Some towns near Fricso were hit by tornado's last week. They are working with the alumni association for drop off spots. Sounds like KFGO will be helping out on Monday. Texas media is already doing stories about Bison fans bringing donations to Texas. Stop over at #1 NDSU Bison Fan's Facebook group to help out and with any ideas.

This should give Bisonation something to do this week.

I was hoping Bisonviller's could help. Any ideas are welcome.

    1. Does anyone have or know of someone that has room to bring donations?
    2. Any ideas for drop off spots?
    3. Can somebody spread this on Twitter?

https://www.legacyer.com/ Legacy Urgent Care was on the list of places that are accepting donations. There is one in Frisco, not far from the stadium.

Thanks for posting this. I see you can donate money too in a few of the links above. For those in Bison Nation that don't live near Fargo or are not driving down for the game, consider giving a monetary donation. Disaster centers are always in need of cash to provide medications, food, water, etc.

I don't want to post any names, but my sister-in-law grew up in Buffalo ND and graduated from Moorhead State.

She had a two story brick house. After the tornado 80% of her house was gone and their cars were destroyed.

Her and her husband were home and crouched in a bathroom, about the only spot that wasn't ripped up. Her kids were gone, 1 at college and 1 at the mall. Thank goodness because their bedrooms were completely gone.

We've gone to Frisco all 4 years, and each year she's joined us for tailgating and partying with their Bison friends. This year they're busy cleaning up.

Her house was only 10 or 20 minutes from Frisco. Frisco was awfully lucky to miss the storm.

    UPDATE:

BISON FAN DONATION INFORMATION regarding recent disasters near Frisco, TX. We have been working frivolously to secure a location in Fargo, however with the crunch of so many people leaving for Frisco over the next couple of days we are asking that you donate in Texas. For those of you driving pack a few items if possible. For those of you flying bring a small donation item in your check/carryon bag. Anything helps
Items that are currently needed are: Manual Can Openers, Work Gloves, Rubber or Latex Gloves, Sponges, Laundry Detergent, Dish Detergent, Dryer Sheets, Mops and Buckets, Brooms and Dustpans, Pet Shampoo, Pet Toys, Wet Dog Food, Paper Towels, Lysol Wipes, NEW Pillows, NEW Blankets, Non-perishable Food Items, Air Mattress Pumps, hygiene/toiletry items, canned/boxed food (including baby food), SMALL boxes that can be used for individual food "baskets" for families, Packing tape, School supplies, NEW clothing with tags, children’s toys (other than stuffed animals), and Cases of Water.
If you are able to donate financially please find local donation organizations on the following websites: https://garlandtx.recovers.org/donations/money and https://rowlett.recovers.org/donations/money, You can also donate to the Red Cross or Operation Blessing. http://www.operationblessing.org/
There are 2 confirmed donation drop off locations in Frisco, TX, relatively close to the stadium and weekly events. They are as followed:
Legacy Urgent Care located at 9205 Legacy Drive, Frisco, TX (available all week)
Dallas Stars Executive Offices Located at the Dr Pepper Arena (Wednesday-Friday)
And I saved the best for last!
We want to CHALLENGE Bison Fans/Alumni etc, who will be attending the Drive for 5 Stampede Pep Fest at the Dr Pepper Arena, to bring at least one item for the donation drop off that will be provided the evening of Friday during the Drive for 5 Stampede Pep Fest! If we could all bring one item just think of how much we would help in the relief efforts.
Again from me to you please help in any way you can whether it be financially, donations, or time to volunteer and know that you have helped make a difference. I look forward to seeing BisoNation come together to help the surrounding area of our home away from home.
