Be specific. 1 was a female coach
The most recent was a bunch of x players who wanted a paycheck. Most of the players involved said iowa was a great program. Live changing. Until one player didnt make the NFL then he screamed racism. Then the gravy train started.
You really need to read what was said.

Thanks for the "rest of the story" on this. It's kind of tough to defend a discrimination claim if the decision makrers aren't willing to stand up for their people. I'm guessing the state auditor's position regarding Gary Barta is based on future political aspirations.

I read the report. I also listened to a couple of podcasts of 2 former players who are in the NFL who said in there five years at Iowa they never saw any racism. Even though a few could be insensitive at times.. The just of the whole sheebang was the people in charge of discipline and enforcement of team rules---DIDNT LOOK LIKE THEM. They also thought that more lee way should be given to those who werent used to rules and discipline during there upbringing. Some also didnt like the the rules that there was no wearing of hats, earrings etc in the practice facility. Because it took away from there individuality.

Problem is they knew about all the rules before they came on campus. Sound familiar??????

Cant remember the players name but he left to go to the NFL. Didnt make it. Then started to bad mouth the Iowa program on social media. An ambulance chaser got wind of it and here we are.

"The settlement negotiations took place between the plaintiffs' counsel and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, which represents the University of Iowa and the Board of Regents," Ferentz said. "These discussions took place entirely without the knowledge or consent of the coaches who were named in the lawsuit. In fact, the parties originally named disagree with the decision to settle, fully believing that the case would have been dismissed with prejudice before trial."

Seems like it was 60 players who lodged complaints. The University commissioned an independent investigation and they paid the worst offender (strength and conditioning coach) who wasn’t related to the head ball coach to go away. Seems like a dumpster fire. It’s a disgrace that the Ferentz’s are still there, frankly.

If I were Coach Entz’s son I’d love to have this guy running the department.

Ferentz has been there 25 years and 60 players complained??? You also need to read why Chris Doyle went away. Remember he was the one who was in charge of rule enforcement and discipline. When this all happened he was going to be quiet until everything shook out. But he was subject to asinine criticism from those who didnt know what actually happened. Kind of like yourself. So Doyle defended himself in the press and took all the heat. Its called falling on the sword. He was then offered a buyout. So now the big bad wolf that didnt look like many that he was in charge of disciplining is gone. Guess what? They now have a black S&C coach. Wonder if the white players will bitch that he doesnt look like them?

May be you should know more about what happened before opining on it from general assumptions.?

What I see is the whole Farentz’s family being hired as paper direct reports to the AD in order to circumvent University rules. Are we really interested in that guy running our department? Seems like he’s got a real talent for getting his employer sued as well.
