UC Davis notes (aka old Bison football playoff friends in Div 2)

- (25-7 last season, 14-2 Conference Champs, first ever Big West title)
- Coached by 7 year NBA vet Jim Les, also known as the former
Bradley Head Coach in the Missouri Valley Conference (9 seasons)
- Les coached Bradley to sweet-16 in 2006
- NIT appearance against Stanford last season
- Cal Davis led the country in 3 point shooting % (.447)
- 16 game improvement last season
- 14 game home winning streak
- picked to finish in tie for 7th (of 9) in Big West media pre-season poll
- similar to NDSU in having lost previous year's conference player of the year - Corey Hawkins, who led nation in 3 pt shooting % (.488)
Hawkins now with Sioux Falls Skyforce (NBA D-League) after NBA tryout with Miami Heat

Well if it helps, ESPN Insider John Gasaway did a preseason ranking of all 351 D-1 college basketball teams and apparently he thinks we are the better team, our rankings:
NDSU - 105
UC Davis - 172

Only Summit team ahead of us is of course the fluffy bunnies at 96. Also a note our Sunday opponent Illinois came in at 57. All just a bunch of numbers until the games are actually being played but I think it's a fair start.

Geu is Redshirtting I believe.

Richman said in his press conference it could come down to 5:29PM Pacific time until they make official decisions so it sounds like they plan to finalize who will redshirt and who won't tonight but other than Kabellis nothing has officially come from Richman. BisonJD however has stated Geu will redshirt, which with Kading still healing and Eliason not looking entirely reliable yet I think that would mean Miller will play but guess we'll find out tonight. If Miller plays I think our rotation goes 9 deep:

Dex - until Kading is 100%

Bench

Dylan Miller
