It seems pretty low, but I think he took it for a chance at a starter job. This screams “1-year-prove-it” deal.

Guess I'm not getting all the talk about Haeg not being a starter. According to his Wiki page he started most of the games his first 2 yrs and 35 out of 55 overall so it's not like he hasn't had a starting position in the past?

There is starting and there is being a starter. Which one was he? Judging by what kind of pay he is getting, he was starting, rather than being a starter.

I saw a story that said guys are giving up money for a title shot with Brady, much like a lot of guys did in New England. I kind of doubt Joe is one of them, but who knows.

Joe was on Izzo's radio show and basically said he turned down a longer term higher pay deal from Indy to get a shot at being the full time starter in TB. He was pretty much stuck as the 6th guy in Indy which is pretty good considering their oline is one of the best in the NFL. He's basically betting on himself with a 1 yr prove it deal.

Just saw Joe (#73) in there as an extra lineman for the Bucs.

So, we’ve got two Bison OL playing each other for a chance to go to the Super Bowl next week.

    Huh.

“Playing eachother” may be a stretch, I didn’t see Joe out there a ton.

He was out there a bunch in the fourth quarter. I did not see the earlier quarters of the game. According to the game book he played 16 snaps or 22% of the offensive plays for TB.
