    Default DeLuca

The kid is a beast. Knack for the ball and great football intelligence. MJ and PGT will get better to create an awesome LB corp.

Rewatched the game and DeLuca was very good!!

DeLuca and Tanguay are the enforcers on our defense right now. Need a few others to join their club.

What was up with us lining Deluca up on the line every single time on that last drive? Maybe CAS can explain. I thought it seemed unnecessary.

My guess is to fake blitz or confuse their QB. Make him audible and make a mistake.

Agree DeLuca and Tanguay stood out all day to me as well just need a couple more of these young guys to figure it out and the D will be fine.

Silver lining yesterday is that the run defense was excellent.

Sorry...I misread your comment. Ignore this reply.

Fake blitz.. He had been doing that quite a bit as I recall, but rarely if ever did we blitz him. On that drive we should have blitzed him or just kept him back. The masking hadn't worked all day anyway.

So should he have blitzed more to make it effective? Or back off?

Yes, earlier in game, that way QB would at least have to consider it an option.

If you're not gonna blitz you may as well stay back to get into coverage more quickly--taking MT's last drive now.
