My main point is NDSU doesn’t have a lot of matchups on paper where it’s strength vs weakness.
Are you imagining that in our previous FBS contests we have enjoyed such “on paper” matchup advantages?

    I think not.
    Don't believe everything you think.

So that would be a substantial upgrade from the #22 defense your Ducks had last year then?

Oregon was 11 on a per play basis and looking at advanced stats they had a top 10 defense. It was the first year under Avalos and the team returns a ton of talent.

Still a ways to go to be top 5. But, knock yourself out wishing.

I have been an avid CFB for 30 years. I am quite aware of what it takes. Oregon will be better next years...substantially.

I think he was saying that our O is good enough to compete with your D, making it a fair matchup but not a favorable one.

I don’t think anyone would be surprised if oregon fields a top 5 defense. 247 sports pegs them at the #2 Defense, ESPN has them projected at #3.

#8 in an actual applied statistics. Returning majority of production and last years defense was very young. https://www.espn.com/college-footbal...ootball-season

You did play offenses that didn’t attack what most would perceive as their inherent advantages. You aren’t playing an antiquated offense that just wants to lineup and play even numbers football. This time around it’ll be a modern spread isolating players in space and attacking grass. This defense is by far the fastest and most multiple you’ve played of the FBS games. Both in terms of athleticism and in terms of scheme.
