Rogers Pass in Montana earns that distinction.

Talent matters. Agreed. But why artificially eliminate teams from the opportunity to compete for a championship with subjectivity? It’s antithetical to the idea of sports. You have the opinion that this makes the regular season more appealing. Fine. My opinion is that sports are about on field competition. A team that wins all of its games should absolutely be afforded to compete to win a championship. That doesn’t currently occur.

Alabama 2011 had no business being in the title game. OSU got hosed.

Go back a few more years and you can make the case for USC in multiple seasons. They won a title without even playing in the title game in 2003. Even solid cases that TCU, Utah, and to a lesser extent Boise State

    OSU was ineligible.

So you're not wrong, but my point stands since they weren't in the field.

There are post-season bans in the FCS too, no?

Are you referring to G5 teams that go undefeated but are not let into the playoffs, ala UCF?

Otherwise, any P5 team that goes undefeated will get in.

I think he was talking about Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State lost to Iowa State.

Alabama lost to LSU, then beat them in the NCG.

You could argue that Alabama shouldn't have been there - but it's a lot tougher to argue that Alabama wasn't the best team in CFB.

That 2011 LSU team faced a murderer's row through their season and looked at the time like one of the best squads in CFB history. Then they got shutout. I hate Alabama as much as anyone, but it's irrefutable.

You’re not much of a math guy are you?

    P5 yet 4-team playoff.

I already know your response, but there is a possibility here where you position is inaccurate.

Can anyone think of an FCS team that had a post season ban?
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

I’m just pointing out that Oklahoma State is the team many thought should’ve been in.
