Tailgating hours extended unanimously by city council.

However, "The council unanimously approved the amendment, causing the ordinance to sunset after 1 year" in order to review the impact before continuing it.

Eugene Oregon is 3 states away from ND and is still 8 hrs further than Dallas. Not making that drive
Once you hit Beach though that is a pretty rich scenic route. Lots of texture there to enjoy.

It takes a long time to drive along Hwy 101 following the coast. There's still some good scenery along I-5 and the game is in the middle of the dry season so the weather should be nice. The Willamette Valley is flat like the Red River Valley, but there are mountains on both sides. If you only have time for a short side trip, head into the Columbia River gorge on I-84. It is legal to drive on some ocean beaches so that's an option if you head to the coast. And they won't charge you $12 like they do at S. Padre Island.
It's OK to not be OK.
