These aren’t just regular deaths. In some cases these are excess deaths, avoidable deaths. This is a little different than heart disease, which builds up over time and is a mixture of genetics and lifelong choices. People that catch this die within like 3-4 weeks, usually after a great deal of suffering. I guess I am not okay with normalizing that. One year of sacrificing a few of the things I enjoy doing is something I am more than willing to do in order to spare someone that pain. I am a little baffled by the “if it doesn’t affect me, I don’t care” attitude. I would hope most of us are capable of thinking beyond ourselves.

We lose tens of thousands of Americans EVERY YEAR to the regular flu. You don't see us crippling the economy and putting tens of millions out of work for that.

Time to open up the damn country. We flattened the curve. It worked. Let's be done now.

Did you ever think how many football fans around the country would want to watch an FCS dynasty program play the mighty ducks? All the storylines involved......how good are the ducks this year? Will Oregon have the team to beat Ohio State the following week? Who is this QB from NDSU who could go tops in the NFL draft next year? Can the Bison defeat the 7th FBS team in a row? If this game is put on the proper Network at the proper time slot it would attract a large viewing audience. You can bet the Ohio State fans would all be watching!

I agree with this. It writes itself and just needs a little marketing push from the ESPN's of the world.

Amen brother.......let the pussies continue to cower in their homes! And I am not talking about those at risk. They would be smart to continue to stay at home. I am talking about healthy people up to the age of 65.

He means he'll take everything from others. Pretty common philosophy nowadays.

Scrooge-"Are there no prisons?". "Plenty of prisons..."
Scrooge-"And the Union workhouses." . "Are they still in operation?". "Both very busy, sir..."
"Those who are badly off must go there."
"Many can't go there; and many would rather die."
Scrooge- "If they would rather die," "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."

Who gives a crap about storylines.

The public is going to be so sports starved by the time fall rolls around they'd watch a bunch of fat third graders play dodgeball at recess.

I don't disagree with you in theory. In practice I think people should note that if your BMI is slightly elevated (as it is for most around these parts), you have asthma (or even seasonal allergies) you're at a higher risk even under 65. It doesn't mean you're going to die, but it doesn't mean you're getting out whole either. I had swine flu last year that resulted in pneumonia and I ended up with permanent lung damage over it.

You're going to see a lot of those cases going forward. If you can say that risk is unavoidable and necessary that's a valid argument.

To say there's no risk to people under 65 is inaccurate though.
