Between this and letting Haeg go. Steelers have been a bit baffling lately. This move certainly does not match how they played Tuszka and spoke about him this off-season.

Not sure why Haeg was released maybe injured? But Tuszka was given every chance to show something this pre season and unfortunately he didn’t take advantage. Just doesn’t generate much pressure even against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

That, and I'm sure they didn't want to guarantee his salary if he is on the opening day roster. Once game 1 goes by, then I think vets can be hired with no long term commitment....ie game to game. I never heard anyone say his game is terrible, so I have to think he will be picked up since OL is always in short supply.

They also probably his dropped pass from Tom Brady in the Super Bowl...../purple

I still can't believe Haeg got the ax. Watched the preseason game he played in and he won damn near every snap if not all of them. He won't be on the open market very long as he is super dependable and his contract is very reasonable by NFL standards.

He is a FA. He doesn't have a contract.
